Leola McKee Books & Bears Program
|
|
In
early September 2007, we received a call from Leola's family in Florida
asking about our library and the programs we currently offer. They were
looking for a way to commemorate Leola's 100th birthday that would have
special meaning to her because she loved the library so much. After
careful thought and consideration and because of a generous donation
made by her family, we have established this program in Leola's name
to recognize emerging readers in our school district.
On September 28, 2007 we made our first-ever presentation of books & bears in the presence of Leola's family. A presentation is done on an annual basis. |
